A Picturesque Train Journey

The day began with a sense of anticipation as we boarded the train to Yogyakarta. The eight-hour ride promised endless vistas of Java's mesmerizing landscapes. As we settled into our seats, we couldn't help but marvel at the ever-changing scenery - from lush greenery to rolling hills and quaint villages.

Upon reaching Yogyakarta, we made our way to the hotel. After checking in and getting comfortable, we decided to unwind with a refreshing swim on the rooftop. With the sun setting in the distance, we were treated to a stunning view of the city.

As night fell, our growling stomachs led us to the Galeria Mall, where we sampled local cuisine and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of Yogyakarta.

Ancient Temples and Lush Landscapes

Our second day in Yogyakarta was dedicated to exploring the region's historical treasures. We embarked on a journey to the Prambanan Temple, an architectural marvel that left us in awe of its intricate stone carvings and grandeur. Our next stop was the Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Standing amidst the ancient stupas and reliefs, we felt transported back in time, learning about the history and significance of these iconic monuments.

In between temple visits, we indulged in a delectable lunch and made a few pit stops to admire the vibrant green rice fields, a quintessential sight of rural Java.

Cultural Immersion and Handcrafting

Our final day in Yogyakarta was dedicated to immersing ourselves in the local culture. We embarked on a city tour that led us to the magnificent palace of Yogyakarta, where we delved into the history of the Javanese royal family. Taman Sari, the water palace, showcased the city's unique blend of history and architectural brilliance.

We couldn't resist the allure of local craftsmanship and visited stores where Wayang Kulit puppets and Batik fabrics were skillfully created. Watching artisans at work was a truly enriching experience.

As the day drew to a close, we returned to our hotel for one final rooftop swim, savoring the serene ambiance. Tomorrow, we board another train, this time to Malang, ready to embrace the next chapter of our Indonesian journey.
