Swaziland and Hluhluwe Imfolozi park

Our South African adventure continued as we bid farewell to the stunning landscapes of Kruger National Park and crossed the border into the enchanting Kingdom of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland. This leg of our journey promised unique wildlife encounters, cultural immersion, and captivating scenery.

A Birdwatcher's Paradise: Before leaving the vicinity of Kruger National Park, we made a stop at a bridge, not only to admire the breathtaking views but also to indulge in one of my passions – birdwatching. The bridge provided a perfect vantage point to spot beautiful avian species. As an added bonus, we had the opportunity to observe one of my favorite creatures, the crocodile, lurking in the waters below.

Entering Eswatini: As we crossed the border into Eswatini, we experienced the intricate process of passport stamping, a testament to the distinctiveness of this kingdom within Africa. Leaving South Africa, we received an exit stamp, followed by a stroll through "no man's land." Upon reaching the Swazi border, another stamp welcomed us into the country.

Landscapes and Handcrafts: Eswatini unveiled a tapestry of landscapes that left us in awe. Rolling hills, lush greenery, and scenic vistas greeted us at every turn. But it wasn't just nature that captivated our attention. Eswatini is renowned for its skilled artisans, and we had the privilege of witnessing some incredible handcrafting by the local people. Their craftsmanship was a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the kingdom.

Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park: A Wildlife Wonderland: Our next adventure led us to Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park, one of the most breathtaking places for a safari. Though our safari here was not long enough for my liking, the experience was nothing short of magical. The highlight was an encounter with a majestic herd of elephants, ranging from massive males to adorable baby elephants. My mantra was simple: stay calm, savor the moment, and, of course, capture as many photos and videos as possible.

St. Lucia: Our Resting Place: After the exhilarating safari, we made our way to the charming town of St. Lucia, our home for the night. Here, we could reflect on our incredible wildlife encounters and the beauty of Eswatini's landscapes. The journey had already gifted us with unforgettable experiences, but we knew there was still more to come.

Conclusion: Our journey through Eswatini had been a captivating blend of wildlife wonders, cultural insights, and natural beauty. As we settled into our St. Lucia hotel, we eagerly anticipated the adventures that lay ahead in this remarkable part of Africa. Stay tuned for the next chapter of our journey, filled with surprises and discoveries.
